Class of 2020 Profile - Meet Ashley.

Ashley-C-20-2.jpg

We are closing out these profiles with Ashley for two reasons, first, we are out of filled out questionnaires but… most importantly, Ashley has done something so incredible in her sport that we want to finish on this high note. Ashley is a senior at Union-Endicott this year and will be attending Molloy College next year on Long Island to major in psychology and to be a member of their bowling team. Ashley bowled for UE all through middle school and high school and this where things get crazy….

As she recounts in her favorite memory of high school, it was sectionals in 2019 and in her last game she bowled a 300, this on its own is amazing but it was following two games of 258 and 296 giving her an 854 series. This was not only her personal best but it put her down in the record books with the national record for the highest three games ever bowled by a junior female bowler. NATIONAL RECORD…. She went on to the national tournament in Indianapolis that year and finished in 20th out of 270 to make it that far. Seriously Ashley, you rock!

A little known fact about Ashley is that she is extremely uncomfortable around mascots and this goes on to include Santa, the Easter Bunny and Chucky Cheese (that rat is freaky for sure). To this day, she will not high-five the UE tiger…. Her favorite quote comes from W. Scott Wilbur, the President of MOTIV Bowling in a letter to Ashely after her national title where he said “may every day of your life be as joyous as the moment that last pin fell”. When we discussed her favorite part of her senior portrait experience, she said it was when we came to photograph her commitment ceremony for Molloy College at UE High School, it was a very emotional day for her and it was great to capture it for her and her family.
