Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge

On Sunday, April 14th, we went to Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Kent County, Delaware. This is a huge wildlife sanctuary along the Chesapeake Bay and is home to a variety of birds but the most dominant species is the Bald Eagle. To say there were a lot of bald eagles here would be an insult to the phrase “a lot”. It’s hard to know as you drive through how many we saw, but it must have been north of 30. They were EVERYWHERE. Here is a gallery of shots from our trip through. Enjoy!

It is always a treat when you see a new species, for us, a new one on this trip was the Blue-Grey Gnatcatcher. We got a couple of shots of this tiny bird near the Finis Pool.
