The Top 22 Photos of 2022

This is our fourth annual “Top Photos of the Year” post. This year they are in random order. Each has a story to tell, an emotion to share, or a moment frozen in time. They are comprised of wedding photos, senior portraits, school portraits, sporting events, team sports, and even some doctors jumping for joy! Throughout 2022, between Julia, Melissa, and Sean, we photographed 704 sessions. These include everything from quick in-studio class photo makeups to all-day events like weddings. In all, this totaled just over 500,000 photos taken! Choosing our favorites was an impossible task, so for 2022 we present our top 22 photos (plus a few honorable mentions because it’s just too hard to narrow down. ) We had fun putting this gallery of images together and we hope you enjoy them!

Alyssa and Cody

On December 11th, we were able to capture the wedding of Alyssa and Cody. The list of adjectives to describe them is never ending, sweet, kind, happy, loving, easy-going, humble, amazing…. We could go on for paragraphs…. Like all our couples who got married in 2020, they had to scale back on their plans for their ceremony and reception so the big party is going to have to wait until later in 2021. Here are some of their shots from later in the evening.

For our studio, it was not the year we’d hoped for, but we also have been able to weather the COVID storm and the temporary shutdowns. All told, we photographed 189 events including weddings, seniors, families, headshots, special events, newspaper gigs, sporting events, team photos and commercial projects. In total, we shot just over 215,000 photos. We went back and forth, trying to narrow those 215,000 shots down to our top “20 photos for 2020”, and it was a tough task. Please don’t take it personally if your photo is not in this list. We could have made a top 2020 for 2020 but we think that would have been a bit too much. So, with that said, here we go, in no particular order… our top “20 photos from 2020”…
